PRESS ACCREDITATION

Press Accreditation

Press/Media Accreditation is mandatory for film crews in Rwanda. This applies for foreign film crews in the category: Rwandan correspondents, EAC journalists, publications and foreign journalists. Media accreditation is issued out for short term periods between 15 to a month duration and if more time is required the crew has to reapply. Press accreditation in Rwanda is issued by the Rwanda Media High Council and the requirements include: Application form, Passport copy, CV or professional background, Passport-size photo, Assignment letter from employer or production company, Copy of Rwanda filming permit (or proof of application)

 

Processing Time: Once the accreditation fee is paid, it takes between 3-5 working days to be approved but might take longer depending on the circumstance. Working with a local Rwanda fixer is recommended to ensure that the accreditation application and approval runs smoothly

Its recommended to work with a local fixer who in turn works as your local contact on the shoot and ensures that the office has a contact to work with to ensure that the accreditation requirements are provided and any questions answered before the shoot starts.

📦 EQUIPMENT IMPORT

Customs Clearing

We handle and help you with clearing filming Equipment into Rwanda for filming. The actual cost of your kit customs clearing depends on the value of your Kit list. Rwanda Fixers will process your kit customs clearing in 3-5 working days as long as you send us your detailed Kit list showing the name of each piece of equipment, serial number, and values of each Equipment, preferably in the US Dollars. Once we have a comprehensive Kit list, we will forward it to our clearing Agent for evaluation and we will inform you of the exact fee to be charged. The same clearing Agent will wait for you at your entry point be it land boarder or the Airport to help you with clearing.
